I've been hooked up on this sound for some weeks now and it strikes me every time. Galaxy 2 Galaxy, a live electronic and jazz music collective featuring members of Underground Resistance, released this in 1993!

Beats in Space

My good friend Louis (aka lb) recommended me some time ago a weekly radio show in New York called Beats in Space. I've come to really enjoy it and nowadays whenever a new podcast is released I'm thrilled. And this week is no exception! Featured guest is the well known Juan Atkins that at the age of 47 keeps showing us why he and his boys (Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson - the Belleville Three) made techno back in Detroit.



"Beats In Space is a radio show mixed live by Tim Sweeney and guests in New York City on WNYU 89.1 FM every Tuesday night from 10:30pm to 1:00am. The show began in the fall of 1999 and has not missed a week since then."

King Of Snake

Remembering the great English duo Underworld who was recently in the Creamfields festival this summer in my hometown - Vilamoura, Portugal, here is King Of Snake!

Addicted to this old techno track, I just love its synth power and the subtle piano melody..

Incident

Joris Voorn is a native-born Dutch DJ, music producer and remixer from Schiedam concentrating in Deep House and Techno sounds since 1997. He has just released housy "Dusty House Room 2" available at beatport.

However, I leave here a track from the time when Voorn was making those slamming techno tracks and "Incident" was(is) one of my favourites!

Dusty Kid

Paolo Alberto Lodde aka Dusty Kid is an Italian young techno producer/dj. Despite being quite new in the scene his tracks and remixes have already made a stand about techno music. Richie Hawtin (Plastikman) himself pointed Dusty Kid as one of the new hotshots in techno music detroit style.

The album "A Raver's Diary" released in the 20th of April is a good proof of that. A mixture of different types of tracks always having techno music as its basis, and often pushing it to the limit.

Below I leave you with a track called "America" taken from the album. Not the best sample of the album style as a whole, but in my opinion a hell of a trip! Enjoy!

Dusty Kid - America

The Field

Axel Wilner, better known as The Field, is a techno artist based in Stockholm, Sweden. His music is often filled with big tracks leading the audiance to a state of techno trance! I like to call it hypnotic techno music. And I'm also addicted to it!

The Field has already two albums, "From Here We Go To Sublime" from 2007 and "Yesterday And Today" released this year.

Acid Girls

Acid Girls from LA are living the (american) bloggers dream ; they went straight from hosting one of the most influential music blogs to dj'ing parties all over the world and are recently receiving more and more praise for their own productions and remixes.
Similar to Duke Dumont or JOTS [Jokers of The Scene] , their productions have a very wide range of influences...but always build on the roots of classic techno.

Their new single is about to drop on IHEARTCOMIX on September 1st . It Features two dancefloor destroyers along with remixes by JOTS and Dave P & Adam Sparkles .
